The Origin of the World
How did this world (and we ourselves) come into existence ?
An EXPLOSION ? Something had to be there to explode !
EVOLUTION ? Something had to be there to evolve !
We have to be serious - we cannot afford to be casual and
irresponsible: we know ourselves
that these conventional explanations explain
nothing; they simply pass the buck.
There has to be some First Cause of all
these second causes !
AND THIS FIRST CAUSE HAS TO BE CAPABLE OF EVOLVING A UNIVERSE WHERE

IS THERE AN INTELLIGENT BEING BEHIND THE UNIVERSE
?
The human mind is driven to that conclusion. If you find a watch
lying on the beach, you conclude that there must have been a watchmaker. The
order and complexity of our universe cannot have evolved by time plus
chance: it surely must be due to some kind of Supreme Being.
Most of us feel the existence of God is just too big an issue for
puny human beings like
ourselves to try to decide. After all, we don't have the greatest minds in the world -
there are other people more intelligent than we are. What do they think ?
Einstein, for instance ? Here are his own words: "My religion consists of a humble admiration of the illimitable superior Spirit who reveals Himself in the slight details we are able to perceive with our frail and feeble minds. That deeply emotional conviction in the presence of a superior reasoning power, which is revealed in the incomprehensible universe, forms my idea of God".
